The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a Planning Study in Northeast Tallahassee to evaluate possible capacity improvements to State Road 61 (Thomasville Road/U.S. 319) and S.R. 261 (Capital Circle Northeast). The project limits on S.R. 61 are from Metropolitan Blvd. to the Bannerman Road/Bradfordville Road intersection. The project limits on S.R. 261 are from Raymond Diehl Road to S.R. 61. The intent of this study is to evaluate capacity improvements on Thomasville Road through roadway widenings, new facilities on new alignments and improvements to the existing network throughout Northeast Tallahassee.

Lengths and Limits
S.R. 61/U.S. 319 (Thomasville Road): From Metropolitan Boulevard to Bannerman Road/Bradfordville Road, approximately 5 miles, and S.R. 261 (Capital Circle Northeast): from Raymond Diehl Road to S.R. 61/U.S. 319, approximately 0.5 miles. The limits also extend to the east approximately 5 miles to include the critical connections of future Welaunee development and planned roadway network.
